Recreational and medical cannabis are legal in Michigan, and now the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs department has gotten involved in protecting the industry’s trade secrets.
Basically, it all boils down to playing fair and asking permission to copy or emulate, in any way, particular recipes or brand likenesses.
In the legal world, that’s called “intellectual property.”
In layman’s terms, it’s called giving credit where credit is due — rather than trying to pass something off as an original.
The Bureau of Marijuana Regulation published a new bulletin regarding Intellectual Property – Brands and Recipes.
